The 1/18 scale drift RC is a hit with many indoor racing fans. This line up has 4 simulated models in different liveries to choose from. A low cost entry model to get started in drifting. It is RTR ready to run kit that has all you need except a few batteries for the controller. I bought the third iteration of the very popular AE86 style Levin RC. I was very pleased with my choice seeing it had a metallic red finish and well detailed. It has a gimmick flip up front LED lights that can be operated by its controller. The front wheels drift angle has been improved and gives you maximum drift positioning without any extra modifications. It’s also equipped with ball bearings for real smooth operation. Although you can do some cool drifting right out of the box, the gyro is quite sensitive in that it doesn’t hold the tire angle for long. It will snap to realign itself too quickly. Some hobbyists try to install new a gyro but the cost may not be worth it for such an inexpensive machine. For what it is, it’s still a fun cool way to enjoy indoor RC drifting in a limited area rainy or sunny days.

1/34 Micro Drift RC - Fully Proportional!
A 1/43 drift RC that is a lot of fun!
Long awaited a 1/43 scale drift RC car that is also 2.4 ghz. This Drift RC is all wheel drive and is fully proportional. It comes ready to drift or grip tire racing. Just add triple AAA batteries for the transmitter then start racing around. It is equipped with some nice features such as working front and rear LED lights and brake lamps. The scale is slightly on the large spectrum of 1/43 models. Toucan RC Hobby is the distributer for a brand called JIABAILE it seems. The detail quality is pretty good for an unlicensed replica series of 4. I chose to order a couple of cars to try out because the price was so reasonable. Out the box the car has decent drifting ability so, it is not to disappoint an indoor drifter. I personally wouldn’t recommend using it on asphalt or very rough surfaces. Try different smooth indoor surfaces to see what works best for you. No spare parts have been released so operate carefully.
There is nothing you can do to customize it except to throw on a few stickers or perhaps repaint it. And it only comes with one body and a few drifting cones that are better suited for 1/18 scale cars. The chassis seems to be interchangeable with different models and fittings.
Cons & glitches :
No gyro, for the price point don’t expect it. The wheel angles aren’t much. The transmitter turns off after 2min of idle use. Every use the steering is trim must be adjusted. It will lose alignment memory when it is turned off. This is a hassle trimming it every run. Side mirrors should protrude a bit more for a bit more realism.
Pros:
Yes fully digital proportional! 4WD performance. Optional grip rubber tires for racing. Light weight for its size. Variable 3 speed selection. LED off light switch to save power. Low learning curve for first time drifters.
Final take: Have fun, drift indoors rain or shine and perfect an awesome slide across your floor.
